DESCRIPTION

Infinite Detail, Zero Physical Stress Laser Cutting utilizes a high-powered, concentrated light beam to vaporize paper fibers with surgical precision. Unlike physical die-cutting, which is limited by the mechanical radius of a steel blade, laser technology allows for nearly infinite complexity. From microscopic internal cut-outs to lace-like patterns and delicate lattices, this process creates intricate designs on Heavyweight Premium Stocks that would be impossible to achieve through any other method.

Respecting the Medium

While laser technology allows for near-infinite precision, we must respect the physical reality of the medium. Regardless of the GSM or thickness of our Premium Stock, removing significant portions of the material’s surface area naturally compromises its structural integrity.

The Fragility of Paper Fibers:

Unlike metal or plastic, paper remains a fiber-based substrate. Ultra-fine internal patterns and microscopic “lace” bridges lack the physical mass to withstand the rigors of daily handling. To prevent snapping and structural failure, we advise against designs that are excessively delicate. We mandate a minimum bridge width of 1mm to ensure your intricate design remains durable and intact. In high-end print, a design is only successful if it survives the touch of the recipient.

Technical Pre-press Insight

Our laser systems are calibrated to minimize carbonization (charring) on Premium White Stocks, ensuring clean, crisp edges. All designs for laser cutting must be provided as 100% vector paths on a dedicated layer. Our engineering team reviews every die-line to ensure your design achieves the perfect balance between architectural beauty and physical durability.
