Solid Brand Consistency Flood printing involves applying a solid, continuous layer of ink across the entire surface of the business card. It creates a custom, edge-to-edge background color that aligns perfectly with your brand identity. To achieve flawless edge-to-edge coverage without white borders on our premium specialty stocks, a mandatory 0.125-inch bleed is strictly required in your pre-press design files.
Not Required: The card retains the natural, tactile color of the selected specialty paper. Ideal for minimalist designs focused on the raw material.
Single-Sided: A solid background color is applied to the front side only, allowing the profound natural texture of the unprinted specialty paper to remain exposed on the reverse.
Double-Sided: Edge-to-edge solid color coverage on both sides, delivering maximum visual impact and absolute brand color consistency.
When applying a dark flood print (such as deep black or navy) onto uncoated specialty stocks, the ink absorbs deeply into the paper fibers, resulting in a highly sophisticated, matte finish. Please note that while the surface is printed, the cross-section (thickness edge) of the card will remain the original unprinted paper color. For a completely unified block of color, we highly recommend pairing a Flood Print with our Edge Painting or Foil Edge services.
