Are all finishes suitable for every business card?
No. Some finishes need thick stock, smooth surfaces, vector artwork, or minimum line thickness. Each guide explains the most important design and production limits.
What is the difference between foil, metallic ink, and 3D metallic embellishment?
Foil stamping transfers metallic film, metallic ink is printed ink with metallic pigments, and 3D metallic embellishment uses a raised metal-like transfer decal. They are different processes with different visual and tactile results.
Is flood print the same as painted edge?
No. Flood print covers the card face with color. Painted edge adds pigment to the side edge after trimming. They can be combined, but they are not the same process.
Why do premium custom business cards start from 200 pcs?
Specialty business card finishes such as foil stamping, debossing, embossing, raised UV, die cutting, thick card structures and painted edges usually require setup, plates, material preparation and production testing. Because single-piece proofs are expensive and not practical for complex finishes, most custom business card quote requests start from 200 pcs per design. The sample book is used for material and finish reference, not as a one-off production proof.
